Apple’s Solo Loop Band is an Apple Watch band made from liquid silicone rubber. This makes the band stretchable enough to go over the hand, but it is also fitted to fit the wrist in an ultra-comfortable design. According to Apple, each band is swimproof and sweatproof. I use these bands as my gym and swimming band. Its comfort and design make it an excellent accessory for the pool. A correctly fitted one disappears on the wrist.
There are two downsides to this band. First is the Apple Premium. At $49, it’s a costly accessory, but unlike the cheaper versions that can be found on Amazon, the Apple version is thicker and, therefore, holds up better to the everyday wear and tear of something that will live on your wrist. Second, since it’s made of silicone rubber, it tends to be a magnet for dirt and debris. That said, a quick rinse with water is as good as new.
I have three of the official Apple Solo Loop bands in my collection of different colors, and I have yet to replace one due to it failing or anything like that. I have gone through several generic Solo Loop knockoffs due to the silicone snapping or the rubber cracking after being on my wrist in the Arizona heat. In this case, you indeed get what you pay for.
Have you tried the Apple Solo Loop or one of its knockoff competitors?
