Christmas hasn’t been the same since my Mom moved into a nursing home. It’s become a bit of a downer. I’ve tried my best to keep the spirit alive, but it hasn’t been easy. With family drama and money being tight, things just haven’t felt like Christmas. But one thing I always do is put up a Christmas tree. This year, I got a small Mario Bros. Christmas tree for my desk. It’s USB-A powered and LED, so it uses very little power and connects to my HomeKit automation for my work time. When I connected it, which I did every early this year, it instantly reminded me of my new relationships and the joy of old ones. I felt a weight lift from my shoulders. Sometimes, the smallest things can bring the biggest joy.
