Sometimes, you just need to step away from your writing and let your creative energy flow elsewhere. I’ve turned mine to crafting! I recently got a Cricut Maker, which is a cutting machine that can cut things like vinyl, cardstock, lightweight woods, and even engrave. I’ve made several projects since I got it. I’ve created wall art, engraved my Swiss Army Knives, added decals to clothes and hats, and etched glass. I’ve been busy!
With all that being said, I have to admit I’ve taken a break from my daily writing. But now that January is over, I feel refreshed and ready to jump back into my daily writing routine. I have fresh ideas and a rejuvenated passion for writing. I’ve found that sometimes I need to take a couple of weeks off from writing to recharge, or else it starts to feel less like a fun career and more like a dreaded task that needs to be done, and my work suffers because of it. Now, however, I’m ready to get back to writing and just enjoy crafting as a hobby.
Do you ever take time to recharge? If so, what do you do to recharge?
