I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about what I’ve been playing, so I thought I’d share some updates here. It feels like ages since my last post about my gaming adventures, so I’m happy to answer these questions!
First off, I’ve been playing Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. Donkey Kong adventures are always a blast for me! They can be a bit tough, but I love them anyway. Especially, I adore DK’s facial expressions—they just bring a smile to my face!

In this adventure, just like all the Country series, you play as DK and Diddy Kong, trying to get their banana back from the Tiki Tak Tribe. It’s a Wii game that’s been enhanced for the Switch with 80 levels across nine worlds. Plus, I love that I can play with a friend in local co-op. I wish Nintendo Online multiplayer was an option, but co-op works great!
The other game I’ve been playing a lot lately is another Donkey Kong title, Mario vs. Donkey Kong. It’s a puzzle game, unlike Country Returns, which is a platformer. In Mario vs. Donkey Kong, you play as Mario trying to recover Mini-Mario toys that DK has stolen from the toy factory. There are over 130 levels to play through. I’ve only made it about halfway through the game at the time of this writing. It’s a fun game that keeps my mind fresh and entertained, but I can only play for about an hour at a time.
Have you played Donkey Kong Country Returns HD or Mario vs. Donkey Kong? What was your last Donkey Kong game?
