Thanks for all the messages and comments expressing your curiosity about what fountain pen ink I’m using for this year’s holidays. One of the best parts of using a fountain pen is mixing and matching inks. I love to especially love to match holiday inks with the time of the season. This year, I decided to rock two different inks for the holidays.
In my everyday carry’s primary pen, the Retro 51 Tornado P-51 Mustang, I’m using a new ink to me, Diamine Seasons Greetings. I love both the Retro 51 Tornado Fountain Pens and Diamine Inks. They pair so well together. They write so smoothly, and the ink flows beautifully. Diamine Seasons Greetings was originally part of the 2019 Diamine InkVent, advent calendar. It has since become part of the Diamine Blue Edition. Diamine Seasons Greetings appears as a dark blue on lighter paper but is actually a very dark teal fountain pen ink with a red sheen. However, you must write on heavier paper and with broader nibs to see the best sheen effects. This is an ink that I haven’t tried until this month and has become a go-to ink for the holidays this year.
The second pen I carry daily in my pen case is the Retro 51 Tornado Frosted Metallic Orchid. I have this inked up with another Diamine ink, Diamine Noel. Diamine Noel is another ink launched as part of the 2019 Diamine InkVent calendar and is also now part of the Diamine Blue Edition. Noel is a red fountain pen that features a golden sheen. I used this ink earlier in my fountain pen journey, but I was going to skip over using it this holiday season. But when I got to writing, I needed to switch up from the Diamine Seasons Greetings.
There you have it. I’m using Diamine Seasons Greetings and Diamine Noel this year’s holiday season. What inks are you using this year? Are you using a fountain pen in your everyday carry? What other questions do you have about my writing process or my fountain pens collection? Drop me a line in the comments or e-mail me below, and I will write back to you as soon as possible. Thank you, and keep writing.
