Baseball is a classic American sport that’s been around for generations. It’s a sport that’s both democratic and allows for some sneaky stealing and deception. Like many kids in America and Japan, I learned to play baseball and had a blast doing it. I remember playing catch with my brother in our front yard and hanging out with friends at lunch to play ball. Whenever I’m feeling stressed, I always find myself thinking about baseball. I even carry a baseball in my bag and have one on my desk, which I toss back and forth when I’m trying to figure out a tricky problem.

It’s not just the live games I watch with my dad; I also love watching classic games from my childhood. I’ve probably seen Randy Johnson’s Perfect Game or Kirby Puckett’s game-winning hit in the World Series a hundred times. The game can be slow, but that’s what makes it so great. There’s time to think or chat about what’s about to happen. It’s all about anticipation. I can watch a good baseball game anytime, anywhere. My favorite teams are the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Minnesota Twins, but even an AAA minor league game is better than no game at all.

Have you ever been to a baseball game? What’s your favorite team?
