The Nintendo Switch is a portable video game console developed by Nintendo and released on March 3, 2017. It’s the successor to the WiiU and the DS, merging the two product lines into one unit. Users can play the device in handheld mode, and in the case of the full-sized Switch, they can connect it to a TV or monitor via a dock and HDMI.
I have already called out the Switch in my article on my ADHD coping mechanisms, but to recap, I use the Nintendo Switch as a controlled distraction that I can use between Pomodoro-like chunks of time. Unlike the completion, the Switch is primarily fun-hearted games with little violence. I can pick it up for a few minutes and play a game for 30 minutes without getting sidetracked by social media or anything else. I love the Switch so much I have two. I have a Switch Lite for when I travel and an original Switch that lives on its dock most of the time.
Whether I need a break or am down for some gaming session to unwind after a hard day, the Nintendo Switch is my go-to device nine times out of ten. Do you play games on a Nintendo Switch? How do you unwind?
