I’m excited to share a three-part series where I’ll be diving into the RYOBI tool systems, starting with the 18v System (also known as the ONE+ system).

Here’s a bit of my history with RYOBI tools. I’ve been using them since I was a kid, and I’ve always loved making things with my hands. RYOBI tools have always been my go-to choice. RYOBI sometimes gets a bad rap because they’re considered cheap tools. Sometimes, you get the tool with the purchase of a battery and charger. For DIY tasks, they’re fantastic. But if you’re using them every day for your job, you might want to consider investing in Dewalt or Delta as they are geared to professionals. Honestly, I’ve never had a RYOBI tool fail me, and I’ve helped my brother and father build a wall of bookcases, as well as countless other projects over the years.

The latest system for their cordless options is the 18V or ONE+ system. I’ve been fortunate enough to get a few of these tools for this review, but my opinions are entirely my own. I wholeheartedly recommend this system for DIYers. They’re great tools at a great price. The 18v system is nicely rounded, with everything from drills, saws, and even home vacuums and Bluetooth speakers. I think RYOBI knows their market and offers a wide range of tools for the home user. The tools I tested for this review were the drill, circular saw set, and the oscillating saw. These tools all worked as designed without any issues. They were nearly as powerful as their corded counterparts, but honestly, that’s an unfair comparison. They’re feature-rich and well-made tools. Plus, they’re compact enough to get into tight spaces. I used all the tools for projects around the house as I recently did some home renovations. I’ll reiterate that I completely recommend this tool system for DIY projects or someone just learning woodworking.

Have you used the RYOBI ONE+ system?
