It’s time again for my recusing segment “what’s in my pockets” for spring 2026. I have changed almost everything about my everyday carry layout.
Guardtier M70 EDC Flashlight
The Guardtier M70 EDC Flashlight is a pocket-sized, USB-C rechargeable, 1100 lumens flashlight. I know that most people will be screaming at their computer screen right now, “but you have a flashlight on your iPhone,” You are right, the iPhone has a good flashlight feature, but it’s tied to the bulk of the iPhone. I can’t count the number of times that I needed a quick light to see into tight places. These places are often places that I either rather not have my iPhone near or it is impossible to get a working iPhone into. Enter the Guardtier M70 EDC Flashlight. Also at 1100 lumens, the measurement of brightness, the Guardtier M70 EDC Flashlight far exceeds the iPhone 16 Pro’s LED flashlight, which produces approximately 30 to 40 lumens. When I wanted a pocket flashlight, I had three main requirements. First, it had to be small. Second, it had to be rechargeable with USB-C. Lastly, it had to have a proud activation button on the back that also would be easily activated by mistake. The Guardtier M70 EDC Flashlight meets these requirements; therefore, it has won a spot on this list and in my pocket.
Victorinox Tinker Swiss Army Knife Multipurpose Pocketknife
I’m still using a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife as my pocketknife of choice, but I have switched to the “Tinker” from the “Spartan.” The reason I have always carried a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife is for its versatility and quality. The reason for my switch from models is simply a matter of versatility. The Tinker gives me a Phillips screwdriver, combination pliers, wire cutters, tweezers, a multipurpose hook, wire stripper, two blades, and scissors while I lose the corkscrew and corkscrew mini screwdriver. The only time that I needed the corkscrew was at charity parties where they forgot the corkscrew. As for the mini screwdriver, it will be missed for a quick glasses temple repair, but I can count on one hand in ten years how many times I needed that tool. I just threw a glasses repair kit into my everyday backpack. It was a very fair trade-off in my opinion. It is true that it added weight, but I have all the tools I need in my pocket ready to go.
Rickshaw Bag Works Medium Solo Pen Sleeve
The Rickshaw Bag Works Medium Solo Pen Sleeve is the only returning item from my last look at what’s in my pockets article. It is a customized pen sleeve made in San Francisco, United States. I have several items in my collection from Rickshaw Bag Works, including my everyday backpack, but that is for another article. The medium solo pen sleeve is made to fit the pens I like to carry, and we will discuss that later in this article. The quality is outstanding, and it protects my pens from damage or, if it does break, from the ink leaking all over my pocket.
Retro 51 Tornado Stealth – Black Cherry Rollerball
My pen of choice is the Retro 51 Tornado Stealth in black cherry. This pen has been customized with the Andy Fifer name to help prevent my pen from getting misplaced. I love Retro 51 pens in my pen collection. I have over 150 pens from Retro 51. Most of those are fountain pens, but I reserve the rollerballs for my everyday use. This pen writes so smoothly. It’s like a hot knife cutting through butter. I prefer to only use these pens for all my handwriting and signing wood.
In Conclusion
That covers what’s in my pockets for spring of 2026. Is there anything that you think I’m missing? It’s time again for my recusing segment “what’s in my pockets” for spring 2026. I have changed almost everything about my everyday carry layout.
