“Always be prepared,” Boy Scout Motto. Ever since I was a boy, I’ve carried a Swiss Army knife. It’s more than just something to fill a gap in my pocket. It’s a staple to my everyday carry. There is hardly a day that goes by where I don’t use the knife at least two times. My Swiss Army knife gets a workout from opening boxes and mail, cutting loose strings, to opening a bottle of beer at the end of the night.
There are indeed places where my knife leaves my pocket, airports, government offices, etc. but for the most part, friends and come to count on me always to be prepared for anything armed with only my imagination and a Swiss Army knife. A few friends have even go so far as to nickname me MacGyver, a nickname I’ve embraced honorably.
A Swiss Army knife has 101 uses in everyday life. I’m not saying that everyone should go out today and carry a Swiss Army knife, but most people would find a lot of use for a knife in their pocket or bag.
