Life in 2026 can be a bit of a puzzle! I’ve mostly embraced a digital lifestyle. I get my books from Apple Books, my magazines digitally, and all my movies and TV shows from AppleTV. For writing and taking notes, I use the Apple Pencil and iPad Air. But sometimes, I just can’t resist the feel of a good paper notebook and a fountain pen. I ink it up with my favorite ink and write the old-fashioned way. It’s just me and the satisfying scratch of the nib on the page. Then, I scan it into my notes app digitally. I’ve gone digital for a few reasons. Digital makes it easy to fix spelling and grammar in real time, quickly edit style, and store tons of content without taking up much space. I have both an iPhone and a full-sized iPad Air, and they can do pretty much the same things, but I find I use them differently for different tasks. For reading books, I usually use the iPhone, while magazines or other graphical content are better on the iPad. Writing is almost always done with the Apple Pencil and iPad Air. Both devices can do the same thing, but I like to use the screen size to my advantage.
Sometimes, like I mentioned, I’ll reach for my fountain pen and notebook, but then I scan the document for storage and reference in iCloud for digital storage.
I’m curious, have you fully embraced digital, or do you still enjoy your analog methods?
