Next up in my RYOBI systems review series is the RYOBI USB Lithium System! It’s all about the USB-chargeable battery that’s about the size of a roll of nickels. The set I have includes a hot glue gun, power screwdriver, rotary tool, and a cutting tool for things like cardboard. I also got a soldering pen and a multiple-port charger with included batteries. These tools aren’t as powerful as the 18v ONE+ System because of the battery capacity and power output, but they’re still super versatile.

During my home renovations, I used the power screwdriver a lot to take apart old accessories and put together new ones. It was a lifesaver when I was hanging the new curtain rods. I used the ONE+ drill to make holes in the wall, then installed wall anchors before using the USB Lithium screwdriver to drive the screws into the anchors. I used it for two weeks, driving about 600 screws, before the battery showed any sign of running low. I used the battery with an USB-C to USB-C cable to charge my iPhone 16 Pro twice and then used it for another two weeks to fix electronics before the battery finally needed a recharge. I put each of the tools through their paces for this review, with the screwdriver and rotary tool getting most of the work. As for the rotary tool, I used it for woodcarving, so I really put it to the test. In one carving session, I used three of the four batteries. The good news is that after using the batteries, I put them on the charger to recharge, and it took about half an hour to fully recharge.

The only thing I’m a bit concerned about with the RYOBI USB Lithium System is that it’s really only meant for light hobby tasks.

In conclusion, I know I’ll be investing more in the batteries for this RYOBI USB Lithium System as I continue to use the tools. Have you used the RYOBI USB Lithium System?
