As part of my RYOBI review series, I got to test out a RYOBI Rotary Tool. I decided to see how well it could handle removing a lot of material from a block of wood to shape it into something beautiful. My first attempt wasn’t perfect, but it sparked something inside me—something I think I’ve always had. I got to use my hands to create something I’m proud of, other than my writing. It gave me a way to relax and unwind after focusing solely on writing. I started woodcarving with a rotary tool. My dad has been using knives and grudges for wood carving for a while, and the idea never really clicked with me. Then, I saw the RYOBI Rotary Tool, and now I see the appeal of woodcarving. It reminds me of the days when I did a lot of woodworking with my dad and brother. It was a return to something familiar but also something new. I’ve developed my own process, and so far, with seven completed so far, I think it’s working out wonderfully. I’m currently building a filming and carving stand for my work because many people seem interested in my process and the hobby in general. My first video is on YouTube.
Have you ever tried power woodcarving? Would you be interested in watching me wood carve?
